I have been reading “The Magic Of Thinking Big,” and I just finished chapter seven. It’s titled “Manage Your Environment: Go First Class.” I’m going to take some things that I learned from it and try to help you out.
The whole basis of this chapter is really self-explanatory. Are you managing your environment right? Successful people are positive thinkers. They surround themselves with other positive thinkers. Negativeness can really bring you down. The negative people are the “little people.” Usually negative people are unsuccessful and are the ones who have a completely different outlook on everything. They don’t strive for positiveness. They sit back in life and complain about everything. They ask “why me?” and their work ethic is completely terrible.
If you’ve got anything great going in your life, the negative people will try to bring you down. They don’t want to see you succeed because they know that they’re failing and they want to see you fail too! They are the ones who are jealous of the successful people and who gossip about people. That brings me to another point in the chapter. This is really something that everyone should have heard at some point in their life. If you can’t say something nice about someone, then don’t say anything at all! That is really the point I’m about to talk about.
When you gossip about people it usually makes you feel bad in some way. If you don’t feel bad, then there must be something wrong with you. Along with making you feel bad, it makes you look fake. Let’s say that you and Bob are gossiping about Bill and five minutes later he walks up and you act all nice too him. For one, people can usually tell that you are acting differently, so it’s obvious something was said to offend someone. For two, that makes you look like a hypocrite.
Try to find the good in everyone. If you’re around negative people and that’s all they do is gossip, then separate ways from them! Surround yourself with positive thinkers. Here’s an idea: Discover new and exciting things to do in new groups! Hang out with a new circle of people and don’t be afraid to make friends! Part of going first class is always having something exciting on the agenda and being enthusiastic every single step of the way! I know it can be difficult and we all slip, but get your mind back to “enthusiasm.”
I’ve been really positive and enthusiastic lately and it’s really helping my day go better. Go first class in everything you do because you can’t afford to go any other way. Talk about people, but stay on the positive side and discover new things! Your trip to success lies within the positive of every single thing you do! When you go out into public, smile! If you can’t smile, make yourself smile real big! You’ll notice this may make you laugh because you realized you probably looked funny. Just remember though, it doesn’t matter what you look like because you are you and that’s all you need to be. We were all uniquely created to be different in some way or another.
